There was a time when access to the internet was a luxury and even a novelty. Those days are long gone. Today, fast, reliable and affordable internet is as much a necessity as electricity.
On March 3rd, Groton & Ryegate (along with 25 other towns) will have the opportunity to join NEK Community Broadband, a Communications Union District (CUD). A CUD enables towns to band together as a municipal entity, which can then qualify for state and federal funding of the construction and maintenance of broadband infrastructure - at no cost, and no risk to the town or the taxpayers.
Stop by the Groton Free Public Library on Friday, Feb. 28th from 6pm-7pm to learn more about the NEK Community Broadband initiative and get answers to any questions you may have.
