West Newbury Sunday Forum - March 22, 2020 at 5:00 (Please note - this is a reschedule from January)

Please join us to hear John Austin, a wildlife biologist with the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department. John will be discussing what we know about the effects of climate change on wildlife in Vermont and the northeast region, related challenges including habitat fragmentation and invasive species, and opportunities to address these significant challenges for fish and wildlife conservation.

John has worked with the Department for 25 years and his current position is Land & Habitat Program Manager. He oversees and coordinates all the Department's interests in land conservation and management for the interests of fish, wildlife, and the public. John has a B.S. in Wildlife Biology from the University of Vermont, and an M.S. from the Vermont Law School in Environmental Law and Policy. He also represents the state of Vermont on a committee commissioned by the New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers to develop and guide implementation of a plan for the region to address the need for maintaining and enhancing ecological connectivity across the region as a means to address the uncertain effects of climate change on the environment.
