We are extending a very last-minute invitation to the entire Hinesburg Community to join us for a BIG Bonfire in the large field to the east of our home located on Fox Meadows—just off of Turkey Lane. We'll be lighting the bonfire on Sunday 2/23 around 5 p.m.—only 2 days away! The bonfire is a collection of treetops and limbs that has been expanding in height and girth for the last four years—now reaching a height of two stories and a diameter of over 25 feet!
This gathering is to welcome spring with old and new friends—and to make new connections with friends not yet made. It is not about what should never divide us—who we support as a candidate for office or whether we support one project or another here in town.
Please join us for just a few minutes or a couple of hours—bring your kids and extended family too!
If you'd rather not watch from outside, you are welcome to watch the flames from inside our home or even from your car—we'll do our best to push back the shrinking drifts of snow to make it accessible for all.
We'll provide some snacks, hot mulled cider, cocoa, and some hot-buttered rum, but we encourage you to bring something simple to share. If everyone pitches in a bit, there will be plenty, and you can return home with whatever wasn't consumed (remember to bring your mugs or paper cups for beverages).
Directions: From the Town Hall travel 0.2 miles south and turn onto Silver Street (across from Good Times Café), drive 2.7 miles then turn onto Lewis Creek Rd., drive 0.2 miles then turn right onto Turkey Lane, over the bridge, up the hill for 0.3 miles and turn right for Fox Meadows—it's just 5 or so minutes from the middle of the village.
NOTE: A request for a burn permit is in the works (we don't anticipate a problem)!
Hope to see you ALL on this warmish afternoon,
DeeDee & Peter Erb
