This talk will discuss the history, settlement and forced emigration of the Acadians from what became Canada's Maritime Provinces. Mike Sevigny will place these events in the context of French and English competition in North America and cover the hardships and losses that resulted. He'll then discuss research strategies, record types, repositories and databases. Learn the story of the Acadians and how to find your ancestors among them. Mike has extensive experience researching the Acadian roots of his and many other families.
