The Champlain Valley League of Women Voters is pleased to bring former Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas ( 2002,04,06,08) to discuss his thoughts on how we have become so politically polarized. Because he also serves on The Governors' Advisory Council of the Bipartisan Policy Center in Washington, he will discuss the work of the Center to create solutions to national problems that can be endorsed by all political parties.
The League of Women Voters is a National Organization, open to all, founded 100 years ago. We are pledged to be nonpartisan, neither supporting nor opposing candidates or political parties and always encouraging informed and active participation of citizens in government. Our mission is to Empower Voters and Defend Democracy.
The Champlain Valley League is providing gatherings at Fletcher Free Library,every 4 th Sunday, accessible by public transportation, intended to create an opportunity for public discussion.
