Thursday, March 5, 3-4:30pm

In celebration of Women of Aviation Worldwide (WOAW) Week, the Dorothy Alling Memorial Library is hosting an after-school program led by Robin Guillian, Director of Aviation: Professional Pilot program at Vermont Technical College. Robin, with the help of some Vermont Tech aviation students, will be leading this event to expose all youth to the core activities: Aviate, Navigate, and Communicate. Attendees will get to try a flight simulator, use navigation charts to make a flight plan, and listen to live air traffic control.

Participants will also be invited to build a pink paper airplane as part of the Pink Paper Plane Challenge™ in celebration of the anniversary of the World's first pilot's license awarded to a woman, Raymonde De La Roche, on March 8, 1910.

This is an engaging and hands-on event for youth of all genders, ages 6 and up. No registration required. Free.
