Community Solar Informational Meeting
There will be an informational meeting on Community Solar on Friday, February 28 from 6pm-7pm, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship located at 108 School Street, in Bennington, VT.
Community Solar refers to a solar farm in which individuals, businesses, or non-profits can purchase "shares" of the power that is generated. You can buy as many shares as you want; you can get enough to cover your entire energy needs, or just a portion.
Shares are available to all Green Mountain Power (GMP) customers. Those shares can be traded or sold. They can "move with you" anywhere so long as you are still a GMP customer.
Community Solar allows anyone to enjoy the benefits of solar power by removing any site-specific limitations you might face if you were to place panels at your own location. The solar farm is located on a site to optimize the amount of power generated.
Typical payback on shares for community solar is 10 years or less. The shares are guaranteed to provide you power for 25 years, generating 15 years of free power.
Learn more about Community Solar at this informational meeting. Experts will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
