On Thursday, February 20, Norwich University will host a free screening of the Peter Jackson film, "They Shall Not Grow Old" from 5:30-7:45 p.m. Using never before seen footage of World War I, this overlays the digitally remastered and in color footage with the voices of soldiers whose narratives – recorded in interviews in the 1960s and 1970s – relive their experiences on the Belgium front.
Hosted by the Norwich University Film Festival in partnership with the Peace and War Center. Generously sponsored by the Norwich University Military Writers' Symposium Associates. This film is rated R and is appropriate for viewers age 17+. This event is free and open to the public.
Then, on Friday, February 21, Norwich University students will host a film festival to screen student-made short films from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in Mack Hall Auditorium. The film festival gives creative students a platform to showcase short films or videos that were created to advance their experience in screenplay writing, creative writing, production, filming, acting, and video editing. Some films may not be appropriate for young audiences. This event is free and open to the public.
