Join the Lake Champlain Basin Program this Thursday, February 20th as we kick off our speaker series. Helen Nerska from the Clinton County Historical Association will present " Clinton County's Battle for Woman Suffrage." This year marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote. Join us for this free talk, plus homemade desserts and coffee. If you show us a Susan B. Anthony coin, you get to bring home a special dessert!
The program will be held at the LCBP office at 54 West Shore Road in Grand Isle (in the Gordon-Center House, the stone building just north of the ferry). It's about 35 minutes from Burlington. 802-372-3213. www.lcbp.org. Other topics in the Love the Lake series: Prohibition in the Champlain Valley, road salt in Mirror Lake, and 10,000 years at the Galick archaeology site.
