Chelsea Public Library is hosting a documentary double feature in the Chelsea Town Hall on Thursday, March 5th at 7 PM.

THE STORY OF VERMONT'S QUIET DIGITAL REVOLUTION: A Documentary about Front Porch Forum

In the most rural reaches of Vermont, a local online service called Front Porch Forum, created by Michael Wood-Lewis and designed exclusively for Vermont residents, focuses on "hyper-local" communication and has begun to change the way locals interact with each other. This documentary tells the story of three people from different walks of life in Vermont. How does participation on their local forums transform them and their communities? Featured film: 23 minutes followed by Q&A.

THE QUARRY PROJECT: A film about THE QUARRY PROJECT, a site-specific dance/theatre piece created for the Wells Lamson Quarry in Websterville, VT

In the Spring of 2016, Hannah Dennison, choreographer, director and producer of site-specific dance, began the process of securing permission to work in the extremely compelling and challenging site, one of the oldest, deepest granite quarries in the country, now flooded and in "reserve." During the Spring of 2017, she consulted with technical and creative partners, tested a prototype stage and as a result of one day on the quarry, she got the go-ahead from Polycor, the owners of the quarry. Each summer, she has been developing the work in the quarry on the stages with dancers and musicians, technicians, engineers and floatation experts. THE QUARRY PROJECT will be performed August 7-23, 2020. Featured film: 15 minutes followed by Q&A.
