LCHP Hosts Clinton County's Battle for Woman Suffrage

Past event
Feb 20, 2020, 6:30 to 7:30 PM

Join the Lake Champlain Basin Program as we kick off our Love the Lake speaker series on Thursday, February 20th. Helen Nerska from the Clinton County Historical Association will present " Clinton County's Battle for Woman Suffrage." Helen worked with many colleagues including SUNY students to author a book about the Suffrage movement in northern N.Y. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote. Suffrage is the 2020 theme for the Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership, a program managed by the LCBP.

So, bring your sweet tooth and join us for free homemade desserts and coffee. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. Even better... show us a Susan B. Anthony coin and you get to bring home a special dessert!

The program will be held at the LCBP office and VT Fish and Wildlife Training Facility, 54 West Shore Road in Grand Isle. Our office is located in the historic Gordon-Center House, the stone building just north of the LCT ferry entrance. For more info, call the LCBP at 372-3213.
