COOLASS discussion and potluck- Calais Food Producers

Past event
Apr 26, 2014, 6 to 8 PM

The Calais Organization of Local Agriculture Support Systems [COOLASS], Calais' ag task force, invites you to a potluck meal at the Maple Corner Community Center April 26th at 6pm, to celebrate our communities food producers.

COOLASS invites all producers, commercial and homestead scale, to come, make connections and find ways we can help each other grow more food for Calais in Calais. We encourage those that will have food to sell this growing season to bring a sample of their products, farm pictures, CSA sign-ups, whatever you have to help us get to know you better.

How do we support the town goal to have 50% of food eaten by Calais residents produced in the Calais region. Possible items for discussion with dessert are:

- Farm/garden visits to share experiences and knowledge
- How can we organize to build a community root cellar
- Establishing a gleaning day to collect and distribute extra produce to those on fixed budgets – especially the elderly.

bring your ideas for discussion. COOLASS is here to help Calais find ways to bring healthier, even more local food to the plates of all Calais citizens. Join us!
