Newbury Book Discussion Group

Past event
Mar 5, 2020, 7 to 8 PM

The next meeting of the Newbury Book Discussion Group is scheduled for Thursday, March 5th from 7-8 PM at the Tenney Memorial Library. This month we are reading Bernardine Evaristo's Booker Prize-winning novel Girl, Woman, Other. ...."Bernardine Evaristo may not be a household name, but Girl deserves every accolade, and more: Her sixth novel is a creative and technical marvel — a sprawling account of 12 interconnected females (some young, some old, one non-binary; hence the title) in modern-day Britain....They all come together in a book so bursting with wit, empathy, and insight, it can rarely pause to take a breath, let alone break a paragraph (or at least put a full stop at the end of one)." (Leah Greenblatt, Entertainment Weekly) Copies of the book are available through interlibrary loan and your local library. Please plan to join us on the 5th.
