Practice Session: Interrupting Hate and Addressing Unintended Bias
Sun. Feb. 9th, 1:15-3:15pm
Vestry (accessible), Unitarian Church of Montpelier, 130 Main St.
Have you ever wished you knew how to respond better to racist comments and jokes? Have you remained quiet, but wished you had spoken up? Join Central Vermont Showing Up For Racial Justice (SURJ) to practice responding. You can apply what you learn to respond better to all kinds of biased remarks, not just on race. SURJ is collaborating with the Unitarian Church Of Montpelier to offer several practice sessions to the Central VT community during the winter months. The free sessions are open to everyone, and no experience is needed. Donations will be accepted. Come to one or all. Interested middle school age youth and older would get a lot out of it, not just adults. Final session: Tues. Mar. 31, 6-8pm. Lite refreshments provided. Questions? 223.7861 ext. 2
