Solaris Vocal Ensemble, led by Artistic Director Dr. Dawn Willis, is pleased to announce its upcoming benefit concert, This Shining Night, on behalf of Dragonheart Vermont on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 7:30 pm at the College Street Congregational Church in Burlington.
This free concert will feature vibrant choral works, including one of Solaris' signature works - Morten Lauridsen's lovely Sure on this Shining Night, spirituals Give Me Jesus and Let me Fly, Scottish Folk Song Joy Be With You All, and a delightful array of vocal solos and small group selections showcasing the broadly varied talents of Solaris' singers.
Audience donations will be used to support the work of Dragonheart Vermont Sisters at Heart which is a day of celebration, learning and fun with other breast cancer survivor dragon boat teams and their supporters. Visiting teams from around the United States and Canada join together each year for this wonderful event on the beautiful Burlington Waterfront. The day brings reflection upon the gratitude and joy of life and in the bravery and memory of those that have lost their lives to breast cancer.
The Sisters at Heart Celebration will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2020, the day before the Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival. Contact us at: DHVTHeart@gmail.com
