Feb. 9, 2020; 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Living Tree Alliance, Moretown
Deep in the winter quiet, the ever intuitive Jewish calendar brings us a celebration of possibilities and abundance in honor of The Tree of Life. Tu B'Shvat celebrates, the birthday of the trees, and has become a modern Jewish Earth Day! We come together: to pause, to bless, to enjoy the fruits of our beautiful earth and to recommit ourselves to actions that steward this world we share with our friends the trees.
All are welcome to enjoy the winter wonderland as we honor the trees with two separate programs, play in the snow, drink Hemlock tea, share stories, and snow shoe in the forest. Family program and Adult contemplative snow shoe offered simultaneously – 1:30-3:30pm
Family program for families with young children led by Melanie Grubman
We will play games and share a "kid-friendly" ritual that deepens our gratitude for the land and revitalizes our commitment toward ecology. Many activities will be outside. Dress warm and don't let the weather keep you from this nurturing community event.
Adults Snow Shoe in the woods led by Kohenet Sephirah Stacey Oshkello
Together we will snow shoe in the woods and engage in mindfulness activities that connect us to each other, the seasonal holiday, and the earth. As we journey through the four worlds of Jewish mysticism we will learn from the natural wonders around us and the teachings that dwell within.
For both programs bring: sleds, snow toys, layers, snow pants, snow boots, and a happy smile.
Adult Program: bring your own snow shoes, snow pants, mittens, hat, and layers
