Emerald Ash Borer and Forest Management Walk, Sat. Feb. 8

Past event
Feb 8, 2020, 1 to 3 PM

If anyone is interested in hearing some recommendations for managing your woods to prepare for the arrival of the invasive Emerald Ash Borer in your woods, this is worth a look. They will also be touring a recent timber harvest that was done with the goal of improving wildlife habitat and recreational benefits, while still generating a bit of money from the sale of timber to pay for the work.

Ethan Tapper, Chittenden County Forester, and Elise Schadler of Vermont's Urban and Community Forestry (UCF) program will lead the walk.

I've been to several of Ethan's walks/talks and enjoyed every one. Vermont Coverts: Woodlands for Wildlife is one of the co-sponsors (many of you have probably seen my plugs for that organization in the past).

Meet at the Economou Rd, Huntington access to the Hinesburg Town Forest. Just drive up the road till you see the log piles or other cars parked. The traveled part of the road ends here.
