Contra Dance at Montpelier Grange

Dance away your cold toes!

Start off February with the friendly dancers at the Montpelier Contra Dance this Saturday, Feb. 1st! This dance will feature Will Mentor calling, with great live music by Bill Olson, Dave Guertin and George Wilson.

Will is the mentor (pun intended) for the "newcomers" session at about 7:45 PM, with his relaxed and friendly teaching style. It's the best way to get involved from the beginning! He will then teach and call enjoyable, social dances for everyone from 8:00 to 11:00.

Join us beforehand for the Grange "Community Potluck Dinner" from 6:00 to 7:00 at the Grange Hall! Share your favorite dish, or bring something simple, and enjoy good food and friendly people.

Tips for dancers: bring clean shoes for dancing on "one of the best dance floors in New England", or clean them up with our tools. Wear light, comfortable clothing. Bring a water bottle, or keep hydrated with our water fountains. Come by yourself and find dance partners in our inclusive group, and bring your friends along! All of our dances are called using the role terms "Larks & Ravens".

Capital City Grange Hall is at 6612 Rt. 12/Northfield St., just south of the I-89 overpass, 1 mile south of Montpelier. Admission—basic price is $10 for adults, $5 for kids & low-income, $15 from "Dance Supporters"! This dance is part of the year-round series that has been at the Grange Hall--since 1983.
