Thursday, Feb. 27: Book and Dessert: Pushing the Limits National Science Foundation Series at 6 PM
The second book in the series is Walking: One step at a time by Erling Kagge. Explorer, lawyer, art collector, publisher, and author, Erling Kagge is the first person to have completed the Three Poles Challenge on foot—the North Pole, the South Pole, and the summit of Mount Everest.
In his book Walking: One step at a time the act of walking is the gateway to the questions that fascinate him—Why do we walk? Where do we walk from? What is our destination?—and in this book he invites us to investigate them along with him. He meditates on the anthropology and history of walking, the science of walking, the health benefits of walking and the delight of walking.
Bring a bag supper and dessert from the Magic Spoon Bakery will be provided with cider.
Copies of the book are available to check out at the library. For more information call 472-5948.
