Can healthy forests help fight climate change? Forests fight climate change by sequestering and storing carbon, and many are asking how we can strengthen this carbon capture capacity even further through excellent forestry and land conservation. There is much we can do to make forests more climate friendly while providing an array of other benefits, to nature and people.
Join us on Thursday, February 6th, at the Ilsley Library in Middlebury, to hear Professor William Keeton talk about the role of forests in keeping carbon out of the atmosphere, how carbon markets work, and the possibilities for Vermont landowners to participate in these markets.
What: Climate Friendly Forests, presented by Professor William Keeton
