Hi Neighbors!

For the past few months I've been working with a core group on a project aiming to purchase 88-90 Oak Street (the current home of the Chubby Muffin) as a community-owned cooperative. We officially launched our public membership drive on the 15th, and we're aiming to mobilize $175k in community investment by March 1st as the down payment order to purchase the property. Co-op membership is a $1k minimum investment, with a target maximum dividend of 6% per year. If you're interested in learning more about the project, meeting board members, and getting a quick tour of the space, there will be an open house there from 6-8pm on Tuesday, June 4th, which will feature some light fare from the prospective tenants.
