125 singers and players from across Addison County, central & northwestern Vermont, and across the Lake in New York join together -- a first time with this number of performers on stage together -- this weekend for a truly special concert! The Middlebury Community Chorus and Champlain Philharmonic join forces to present a delightful potpourri of classics, including the Brahms Academic Festival Overture for orchestra; poignant and powerful songs from Verdi operas; a stirring chorus by Aaron Copland; popular songs from Gilbert & Sullivan; and, the world premiere of an orchestration composed by Middlebury's Peter Hamlin entitled "Reflections of the Sky" that includes poetry by local authors Robert Pack, Julia Alvarez, and Jay Parini. Saturday evening, 7:30pm, at Grace Congregational Church, and Sunday after in Middlebury at the College's Mahaney Center for the Arts. Tickets available at the door. We invite to experience this special collaboration! We guarantee you'll leave the concert humming a tune to welcome spring!
