New Monkton Town Hall - Final Pre-Vote Meeting Feb. 11

The Municipal Building Committee has been working for over 2 years now to explore potential options for a new town office, library and community space. From the beginning, our focus has been on engaging the community to ensure that the design will reflect the preferences of the majority of Monkton residents. So far we have sent out a town wide survey, hosted an Open House at Town Hall and Russell Memorial Library, and held several public meetings to gather input. Bellwether Architects has been working with our community since September to develop schematic drawings and a detailed project budget. We are now at the point where we are ready to vote on a bond proposal to fund this project, which will take place in conjunction with our annual Town Meeting in early March.

To help you make an informed decision about the bond vote, please join us for a final public information meeting prior to the bond vote in which the design and a detailed budget will be presented. We will meet at the Monkton Central School on Tuesday night February 11th at 7:00 p.m.

You'll find lots of information about this project on the Monkton town website at http://monktonvt.com/boards-and-committees/municipal-building-committee/ Two items you won't want to miss at this point: the 3-page Building Committee Report which summarizes the project so far, and an extensive list of answers to Frequently Ask Questions (FAQs) that the Building Committee has received from Monkton residents. As always, if you have questions or suggestions, contact the Municipal Building Committee at: building@monktonvt.com
