Capital Cook-Off & Buy Local Market at the Vermont Farm Show
The 9th Annual Consumer Night will take place in conjunction with the Vermont Farm Show at the Champlain Valley Expo's Blue Ribbon Pavilion on Wednesday, January 29 from 4:00–7:00 PM. This free event, hosted by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets, features the Buy Local Market and Capital Cook-Off, which highlight Vermont food and agricultural products.
Free Admission and Parking! The evening will culminate in a raffle featuring prizes from Vermont businesses.
The Buy Local Market features products from over 45 farmers and producers. Products include local cheese, meat, fruits and vegetables, maple syrup, honey, condiments, wine, beer, spirits, wool, handmade crafts and ready-to-eat prepared foods.
The Capital Cook-Off features teams of Vermont State Representatives, State Senators and Agency of Agriculture staff in a fast-paced cooking competition. The Rooted in Vermont campaign will unveil a secret ingredient before the cooking commences, which teams will incorporate into their dishes.
