Join Lean Left VT and the Stowe Town Democratic Committee on January 21st from 6:30 to 8:00 pm for a showing of the film Suppressed: The Fight for the Vote This 38 minute film weaves together personal stories from voters across the state of Georgia to paint a vivid picture of voter suppression in the 2018 Governor's race. It is not just Georgia. Since 2013, when the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act, 25 states have passed laws that make it harder to vote.

The good news is that voter suppression is not a problem in Vermont. In a recent study, Vermont was the only state to receive a perfect score for voting rights. We urge Vermonters like you to get involved in helping voters in other states VOTE.

The film is showing at the Stowe Library on January 21st from 6:30 to 8 pm. After the film, there will be a discussion including action ideas to fight voter suppression. If you are unable to attend but would like to donate to Fair Fight, founded by Stacey Abram's former 2018 candidate for GA Governor, you can do so here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/ffvt?refcode=sto. Fair Fight's mission is to fight voter suppression in 20 states.
