Governor Galusha Birthday Celebration

The Shaftsbury Historical Society is holding a Birthday Celebration for Governor Jonas Galusha. He was the most elected Governor in Vermont History. He was the sixth and eighth Governor of Vermont for two terms in the early 19th century. The event will be held on February 8th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at his Homestead located at 3871 Route 7A, Shaftsbury, VT. This imposing home known as the Governor Galusha's Homestead in Center Shaftsbury, Vermont is one of Vermont's architectural treasures. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is now the home of the Shaftsbury Historical Society.

The community is invited to take a journey into the history of Shaftsbury, Vermont with special guest, Governor Jonas Galusha and his friends. They will share life and times through their eyes. English Tea will be served, along with punch, cake and scones. Tours will be given of the Governor's Homestead and a Quilting Demonstration by Dear Jane Sewing Circle. FREE ADMISSION.
