Rusty Dewees Comes "Home" to Vergennes

Past event
Jan 25, 2020, 7:30 to 9:30 PM

Dear Folks,

A year after the Vergennes Opera House officially reopened in 1997 to a full house and the VSO on stage, Rusty DeWees called and said he wanted to record his first video in our space. The theater still looked rather rough around the edges so I apologized for the dark floors and woodwork, the lack of curtains and the unpainted wall. To my delight he said it was PERFECT! And so, his first video was filmed and our connection and friendship was formed.

I am so pleased that he is returning to the Vergennes Opera House where he says "it all started." Rusty's humor, exceptional storytelling and music skills are just what we need in the dead of winter.

The show is rated "SC" for some cussin'. Tickets are $22 in advance online at https://www.vergennesoperahouse.org and $25 at the door and $15 for 18 and younger.

Please do come out and see my friend Rusty if you can on Saturday, January 25th at 7:30pm. VUHS seniors are selling baked goods and hosting a 50/50 to raise funds for their Project Graduation.

If you can't make it, or even if you can, please spread the word...as you always have. Additional details are in the press release below.

With my thanks,
Gerianne

About Rusty: Actor/Comedian Rusty DeWees is known for his THE LOGGER persona— full-on comedian, burgeoning musician. His one-man comedy shows are best described as Blue-Collar Comedy meets Prairie Home Companion.

Here's Rusty's take on the evening:
"For the TINY TOWN HALL TOUR - Vergennes-style, I'll perform an all-new set of original comedy, and I'll perform an original poignant piece Vermont Farmers will especially understand. I'll throw in a classic Logger "bit" or two, sing, play guitar, and of course there'll be crowd work, so don't come late … or sneeze if you don't want to be in the show."
