Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Jan. 20, 2020, marks the 25th anniversary of the day of service to celebrate the Civil Rights leader's life and legacy. Observed each year as "a day on, not a day off," #MLKDay is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all to volunteer to improve their communities.
Events are planned across Burlington to support equity, social justice, and community activism. ECHO, in partnership with the City, has a free admission celebration from 10am-5pm on January 20th, 2020. Open to all ages with family activities all day, we offer programming for younger families in the morning and discussion panels on social justice and civil rights in the afternoon.
There will be a free shuttle bus running between the Integrated Arts Academy, Sustainability Academy, and ECHO on a 15 min loop from 10 am – 4 pm.
