Thanks so much to Karl Duffy for pointing out that voter suppression is not an issue in Vermont. In a recent study, Vermont was the only state to receive a perfect score for voting rights. But it is not just a problem in GA either," says Ann Smith of Lean Left VT.
Since 2013, when the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act, 25 states have passed laws that make it harder to vote. From 2014 to 2016, 17 million people nationally have been purged from the voter rolls, according to the nonpartisan Brennan Center for Justice. This film is to help folks understand what is happening in states that are not Vermont. Please come and learn about voter suppression on Wednesday January 22nd at 6:30 at the Worthen Library.
