2020 marks 100 years since the 19th Amendment was ratified, and women in the United States finally earned the right to vote. The Brookfield Public Library is fortunate to host, courtesy of a Vermont Humanities Council grant, singer and historian Linda Radtke, and her presentation "From the Parlor to the Polling Place: Stories and Songs from the Suffragists". Radtke is a singer and historian, and she will bring the songs and stories of the suffragette movement to life. In period garb and accompanied by pianist Arthur Zorn, the decades long lobbying effort will be brought to life.
This program will be held in Brookfield's Pond Village Church, on Sunday January 19th at 4:30 pm. This event is free, and accessible to all.
