Women's March Vermont 2020 is on Saturday, January 18 from 12 to 3 p.m.!
Not keen on marching in the cold or driving to Montpelier? Good news-there is a new format that is environmentally friendly, and opens the door to more participation all across the state through Livestreaming the event taking place at Castleton University.
This year, Women's March is all about taking ACTION to support long-term systemic change and equality for all people. Please join the Washington County Democratic committee as we host this livestream action event at the Aldrich Library in Barre.
What can you expect?
A rousing speech by keynote speaker Representative Summer Lee from Pennsylvania, the first black woman to be elected to their House of Representatives from western Pennsylvania Inspiration as you figure out how you want to be involved with change in 2020 and beyond Engagement in statewide discussions via an online chatroom and amongst fellow Action Party attendees Instructions and prompts for a variety of individual actions
Optional:
Women's March VT is accepting urgently needed donations for womxn who were formerly incarcerated at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility. Items most needed:
- Clothing: Larger sizes like XL, 2XL and 3XL are highly needed.
- Hygiene: Shampoo, conditioner, soap/body wash, lotions, feminine hygiene productives, toothpaste,
and brushes
- Outerwear: Both winter jacket and light jackets, hats, gloves, and scarves
- Shoes: Sneakers and boots
- There is also a desperate need for prepaid phones and minutes, grocery gift cards, and make up for job
interviews, etc.
