Past event
Jan 20, 2020, 3 to 5:30 PM

On Monday, January 20, at the Jamaica Town Hall, there will be a celebration of the life and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year the event will include a showing of the recent documentary on Congressman John Lewis, who worked and marched with Dr. King. The film, Get in the Way, will be shown at 3:00 pm and followed, at 4:00, by community readings, songs and discussion. We will finish the event will a potluck supper around 5:00. Families with young children may want to join us at 4:00 as the film will be difficult for those under 11 or 12 to follow. Please join us for this important celebration. All are welcome.

This event is sponsored by the West River Community Project and the Jamaica Community Arts Council. The Jamaica Town Hall is at 3735 Rte 30, Jamaica VT.

This Project is part of The West River Community Project, a nonprofit community center dedicated to promoting local agricultural, economic and social activities. Through participation and contribution, we seek to improve lives and strengthen our community as a whole.
