The Essex Junction Board of Trustees has two meetings on Tuesday, Jan. 14: a regular meeting, followed by a meeting with the Town of Essex Selectboard. Both meetings will be held at the Village Offices, 2 Lincoln St.
The regular meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. The agenda includes the following items:
- Public to be heard
- Consider request to abate a water/sewer penalty
- Assign fund balance money from fiscal year 2019
- Discuss staffing and coverage at Village Offices
- Discuss ongoing, upcoming, and potential Trustee work items
- Discuss voter petition to change the Town of Essex Selectboard composition to include six members, three from inside the Village of Essex Junction and three from outside the Village
- Discussion and possible action of the purchase of property at 1 Main St.
- Evaluation of a public employee (this is expected to happen in executive session)
- Updates on the fiscal year 2021 budget
The meeting with the Selectboard will start at 7:15 p.m. (or immediately after the Trustees wrap up their regular meeting). Agenda items include the following:
- Public to be heard
- Consideration of creating a Housing Commission for all of Essex
- Consideration of a public outreach plan for the potential 2020 merger process between the Town of Essex and Village of Essex Junction
- Possible creation of a Greater Essex 2020 facebook page
- Consent agenda, which includes an application for an emerald ash borer management grant, and minutes of Nov. 26, 2019.
