The Essex Selectboard will consider supporting Recovery Housing in Fort Ethan Allen. At the Selectboard's regular meeting on Jan. 13, the board will consider submitting a grant application to the Vermont Community Development Program. If approved, the grant will let Champlain Housing Trust convert apartments on Ethan Allen Drive to recovery housing. The housing would be managed by Vermont Foundation of Recovery.

Champlain Housing Trust, Vermont Foundation of Recovery, and Town of Essex staff have agreed to a phasing plan for the transition to recovery housing. Town staff is recommending that the Selectboard support the grant application.
