The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is providing free tax assistance again this year to people whose income is no more than $56,000 for 2019. This program is sponsored by the IRS, and all tax preparers are certified by the IRS. VITA will be at the Argyle Presbyterian Church on Saturday, February 15 from 9:00 - 2:00. There are several other locations in Washington and Warren County where the VITA folks will prepare taxes from late January through early April. If you would like an appointment to get your taxes done, call 1-800-211-5128, x100 Monday - Friday from 9:00-4:00. These appointments do fill up quickly, so it's best to call early. Even though you don't have all your tax information yet, you can call now and make an appointment for February or later.
