Attention Anglers and Friends of Anglers- applications are currently being accepted for the fourth annual Vermont Trout Camp for Teens, sponsored by Trout Unlimited, and well-known industry leaders like Orvis, LL Bean, Cortland Line & Patagonia, and VT friends like Ben & Jerry’s, Misty Knoll, Nutty Steph’s, and Red Hen Bakery. Media depictions of fly fishing regularly tell us that fly fishing is not only the most conservative way to fish, but also the most fun. This program for teens between the ages of 13-16, will be held this June 22-26, at Vermont’s oldest hunting and fishing lodge, Quimby Country. Details on the Camp and applications are available at the website- www.vermonttroutcamp.com. This is a marvelous opportunity for young people to learn to experience the out-of-doors to the fullest. The program offers instruction in fly-casting, entomology, on-stream fly fishing tactics, fly tying, and coldwater fisheries management and biology. Campers have come from as far away as Texas, but we are requesting your assistance in identifying all Vermont youth interested in fishing and encouraging them to apply.
