"CANNABIS EFFECTS ON THE BODY AND BRAIN"
Dr. Karen Lounsbury, Professor of Pharmacology at UVM's Larner College of Medicine, will speak about the benefits, risks and future potential associated with medical cannabis. She will provide insight into the history of medical and recreational cannabis, including information concerning compounds and medical products derived from cannabis, evidence for therapeutic effects and the associated risks of such use. This is the first of the Winter Series lectures sponsored by the Lamoille Valley Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, and will be on Wednesday January 8 at the Commodores Inn, 823 S. Main Street, Stowe. Lectures start promptly at 1:30 p.m. There is a $40 membership fee that includes all nine lectures or a $7 fee for individual lectures.
