Suppressed: The Fight to Vote: Film & Discussion

Past event
Jan 29, 2020, 6:30 to 8:30 PM

On January 29th, Lean Left VT ( www.leanleftvt.org ) along with Essex Resists, Flip the Vote and the Peace and Justice Center will host a showing of "Suppressed: The Fight to Vote" at Main Street Landing in Burlington at 6:30 to 8:30 PM. This 35 minute film about voter suppression weaves together personal stories from voters across the state of GA, painting a vivid picture of the voter suppression permeating the 2018 Governor's race that undermined Stacey Abrams' chance to become the first black female governor in the US. But voter suppression also affects millions of voters around the US. After the film, there will be a discussion including action items that participants can take to fight voter suppression.
