Last Cabin Fever Concert at Walkover: the Panache Fiddle Quartet

Past event
Apr 11, 2014, 8 PM

The final concert in the 2014 cabin fever series will be on Friday, April 11th at 8:00 p.m.

The Panache Quartet is comprised of four musicians, Cape Breton fiddler, Andrea Beaton, Old Time fiddler, Jane Rothfield, Quebecois fiddler, Veronique Plasse, and Franco-American fiddler, Donna Hebert. While they each have their own performing and recording careers, they have come together, crossing borders, merging traditions and repertoires, and created a new genre of musical conversation and inspired improvisation. Each member writes original music that is woven into the living tradition of roots music. Because of the depth of their musicianship there are almost limitless possibilities for countermelodies, harmonies, rhythms, cross-rhythms, and art-music making in the moment.

This will be an evening of music deeply rooted in these four distinct traditions of fiddle music merged with panache as only Panache can. This will be an evening of four, fiery, fearsome, fiddling, fireballs of finesse creating an evening of fantastic fun!

Come out and enjoy. Apologies in advance for not having room to dance!
