Past event
Apr 4, 2014, 4 to 5:30 PM

There will be an art opening and reception for six talented and hard working Mount Abraham High School students at the WalkOver Gallery, located at 15 Main Street, Bristol, on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. Brittany Atkins from Lincoln, Katelyn Bartlett from Bristol, Iris DuPont from Starksboro, William Kittredge from Starksboro, Reed Martin from Lincoln, and Morgan Salter from Monkton, are participating in the college level Advanced Placement Studio Art class under the guidance of high school art teacher Elise Cleary.

These students follow a rigorous curriculum in their AP Studio Art class and are responsible for meeting demanding criteria in the areas of quality, breadth, and concentration. Rather than preparing for an AP exam, AP Studio Art culminates in the creation of an extensive portfolio of at least twenty-four pieces of artwork. If they choose, the students can then send off certain pieces of artwork that meet the criteria, to a college board for criticism and possible college credit. Each student has selected eight examples of their artwork to be in the exhibit at the WalkOver Gallery.

Everyone is invited to attend the opening and reception being held on Friday, April 4th from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. to support and celebrate these young artists. The show will be up through April 25th. Gallery hours are Mon. - Fri. from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. You may call the gallery at 453-3188 x 2 or art teacher Elise Cleary at 453-2333, ext. 2010 for more information.
