Dec 16, 2019, 7 to 10 PM

Dear Neighbors,

This coming Monday, the City Council will hold its second of two meetings in the month of December. We will begin our Council meeting following a brief Local Control Commission meeting at 7pm.

Following the approval of an outdoor entertainment permit, we have the following items on our deliberative agenda.

• A communication on the financial impact of the Livable Wage adjustment for City employees. This is in response to a resolution requesting information on the cost to the City to increase all employees, including seasonal and temporary, to a Livable Wage. The total cost as per the communication is $208,000 per year.

• A communication on City Hall Park that will include an updated budget. Construction has gone smoothly. and they are on schedule for a winter shut down of construction on December 20, with work to resume in the spring.

• A first reading on an ordinance on Accessory Dwelling Units.

• We have three resolutions that have come back from the Charter Change Committee with ballot items to be placed on the Town Meeting Day 2020 ballot for voter's consideration. One is regarding changing the dates when petitions, warnings and ballot availability; one is regarding adding a adding a resident from Winooski to the Airport Commission as well as another Burlington resident to have an odd number of commissioners; and the last is regarding resident non-citizen voting in local elections. (Once these ballot items are voted on by the Council, I will have a posting to further clarify these items to assist in providing you with more information to you when you vote.)

You are always welcome to come to a Council meeting and speak on any topic you wish during public forum which begins at 7:30pm at every Council meeting. You may access the Council agenda at http://www.boarddocs.com/vt/burlingtonvt/Board.nsf/Public Please note that all Council meetings are televised live on BT Channel 317 and can be streamed to your computer or phone.

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. Please be in touch with your comments, questions and concerns.

My best,

Karen
