Vermont Reads activities continue at Bennington Free Library. On Wednesday, December 11 at 12 Noon, Community College of Vermont (CCV) students in Jenny Dunning's English Composition I class will give presentations about March: Book One. The book is written by civil rights icon John Lewis, in collaboration with co-writer Andrew Aydin and award-winning graphic artist Nate Powell. March: Book One is the Vermont Reads 2019 book, and these CCV students will discuss connections between John Lewis' story and injustices they researched.
Stop by the library and borrow a copy of the graphic novel March: Book One, read the display of book reviews of March written by these CCV students, and let your inner artist out to play at activity centers for children and adults to sketch a significant scene using March as an example. Each year the Vermont Humanities Council invites people across the state to read the same book and participate in a wide variety of community activities related to the book's themes.
