Rehearsal for War

The Springfield Art and Historical Society will present "Rehearsal for War: the U.S./ Mexico Border Conflict & the Hunt for Pancho Villa" on December 14th at 2:00 pm at its facility at 65 Route 106 in North Springfield. This program will be presented by its favorite historical duo, Cori Santagate and Myric McBain.

Using period uniforms, artifacts, and equipment, materiél historians Cori Santagate and Myric McBain will discuss the crisis between the United States and revolutionary Mexico between 1910 and 1918, General Pershing's expedition to capture Pancho Villa, and how the crisis prepared the U.S. Army and National Guard for mass mobilization during the First World War. McBain and Santagate will also emphasize the roles of the New Hampshire and Vermont National Guard units during the border crisis.
