What: Public Meeting on Bridge 8 Repair/Replacement (Main Road just south of Moody)
When: Monday April 7, 2014 at 6:30 pm
Where: Community Church of Huntington Annex , Main Road - Huntington Center
The Huntington Selectboard is hosting a public information meeting on Monday, April 7 at 6:30 pm to review the repair/replacement alternatives for Bridge 8 (also known as the Sheldrake Bridge, on Main Road just south of Moody Road).
The existing bridge (originally built in 1934) presents significant challenges due to its alignment, narrow width and structural deterioration. After extensive research and analysis, the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) has developed 7 alternatives for addressing the problems that range from doing nothing to building a new, longer, wider and realigned bridge (at an estimated cost of nearly 3.5 million dollars).
Copies of the VTrans scoping report which outlines the alternatives is available at: https://outside.vermont.gov/agency/vtrans/external/Projects/Structures/13J080
