The Garage Cultural Center and the Center for Sustainable Systems are excited to host Let It Bee: Art/Advocacy/Education. We start out the month with Pollinator Crisis Panel on Tuesday night (12/3) with a panel of experts to discuss the current environmental crisis with honeybees and all pollinators and what this means to each of us and future generations.
12/6 Opening Reception for Let it Bee a group exhibit. Jan Sandman, Dona Mara Friedman and Peggy Smith present their encaustic art. 4pm-7pm food and refreshments.
12/10 Climate Change and Food Security Panel Discussion. How will climate change affect food security? Important topics for all of us.
12/14 Let it Bee Arts and Crafts at The Garage. 9am-4pm workshops throughout the day. Learn how to use essential oils and beeswax to make a salve that helps with body pain and stiffness. We will discuss how to make herbal infusions and how to choose the best oils and ingredients. We will be making food wraps with donated fabric, beeswax, and jojoba oil. Ditch the plastic wrap you have been using to wrap your sandwiches and swap it for a handmade beeswax wrap! Buttons available to add a little flare to your wrap. Learn the art of egg decoration using beeswax.
Children will have the opportunity to make origami bees! and so much more.
Vendors will be on hand selling last minute gift ideas like jewelry, leather goods, pottery, felt ornaments, paper cranes, honey, and much more!
