St. Barbara's Day Celebration at Norwich Campus

Past event
Dec 4, 2019, 7 to 8 PM

Norwich University Artillery Battery will commemorate St. Barbara's Day on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 7 p.m. on the Upper Parade Ground of campus. Named for the patron saint of artillerymen, St. Barbara's Day is traditionally marked by artillery demonstrations, celebrations, and often awarding of special honors.

Norwich Artillery Battery (NAB) will lead the celebration on the Upper Parade Ground by firing 25+ artillery rounds. Members of the public are invited to attend, and requested to arrive at least 15 minutes early as this is a very popular campus event. The cannons will be posted near the middle of the parade ground facing south. For safety, there will be guards present to prevent walking near the cannons, however guests are asked to be aware of and pay attention to instruction from the guards. Public viewing areas are suggested to be by the Jackman Hall steps or the walkway at the north side of campus leading toward the White Chapel.

Additional questions should be directed to SFC Eric Ivory, Norwich Army ROTC, eivory@norwich.edu or 802-485-2949.
