The Vermont Fiddle Orchestra will be performing this Saturday, December 7, with Peter Macfarlane as guest soloist. The concert is at City Hall in Montpelier at 7 pm. Macfarlane has been playing fiddle for the last 20 years with a VT band called Atlantic Crossing. He has taught the orchestra several Scottish tunes for the event. David Kaynor is still the Artistic Director of the orchestra and is using his fiddle to speak, as his speech has been challenged by ALS. The orchestra will be raffling a prize winning quilt, made by Kayla Cram and proceeds from the raffle will be used to help defray medical costs for Kaynor. The quilt prize winner will be drawn the evening of the VFO Winter Concert. Concert admission is by donation, thanks to grants by City of Montpelier, Northfield Savings Bank, and Vermont Mutual Insurance.
