Ukranian Egg Art Workshop

Past event
Apr 11, 2014

Learn how to create uniquely decorated eggs called Pysanky at the Castleton Community Center on Friday April 11th from 1:00-3:00. This is a traditional Ukrainian art that celebrates the coming of spring. Wax is applied to a raw egg with a special tjanting tool and then special dyes are used to add color. The process is repeated several times until the design is complete. Then the wax is removed to show all the hidden colors. The eggs are not made to be eaten, but rather to be given as gifts or used as decorations in the home. Maximum enrollment is 10. Fee for the class is $10 due at enrollment. Call 802-468-3093 for info.
