John Smyth has been playing his original acoustic blues/folk/rock music in venues throughout Vermont since 2010. His album, Hunger Mountain Clay, was released in 2018. Smyth performs with full bands, does solo acoustic sets, and anything in between. His shows are poetic and powerful, playful and immediate.

Accompanying John at Sweet Melissa's will be Ivan Goldstein. Ivan has many years of experience working with the
human energy field which he uses when playing Dobro and lap steel guitar. Ivan played those instruments for a local band called The Hillside Hooligans. He has recorded tracks for John Smyth and Jenna Rice.
