Sat. Dec. 7 from 1 PM to 1:30 PM, Maiden Vermont is the final act at the Bixby Memorial Library during the Holiday Stroll. This year, a SPECIAL SURPRISE arranged by Maiden Vermont--Jon Gailmor will be joining them after his earlier performance for children.
Be sure to come early enough to put your bid on Silent Auction gift baskets. The Silent Auction closes at 2 PM. There is something for everyone and every pet.
Friends of the Bixby pride themselves in a selection of VERY LOCAL OFFERINGS--gift Certificates including from Comfort Hill Kennel, Provisionary, Middlebury Natural Foods Coop, A&D Automotive, Kiss the Cook, plus 3 Squares, Hollyhocks & Vermont Flannel. We have carefully chosen items given by Main Street businesses- Malabar, Marbleworks, Linda's Apparel and Gifts, and People's United.
Chocolate you say? Daily Chocolate and Lake Champlain Chocolate came to the rescue.
Supportive Vermont businesses stepped up- Middlebury Agway, seedsheet (of Middlebury) , WOW Toyz, Big Barn Home Center and Silver Forest (earrings). From Vergennes shopping plaza- Aubuchon (Vergennes), Shaws, and Kinney's Pharmacy all had something to contribute. Local craft persons and artists have donated quilted potholders, holiday beaded bracelets & earrings, hand-designed greeting cards, knitted items and hand-crafted purses and neck warmer. Of course, books for you to read and selections with wine are available for bid. New this year—Philo Ridge Farm, Good Day Café, Darn Tough socks and Scuttleship Farm. For a complete listing of donors, see Addison Independent Nov. 21 or Dec. 5 edition.
Check the Bixby's Facebook page for photos of many of these items.
